Every
Mexican village has a central square and Sayulita
is no exception. The picture on the left shows the
entrance to the village square. There are restaurants
and shops scattered around the outside of this village
square. The Picture on the right shows a typical
street in Sayulita, cobblestones and small shops
and restaurants.
.
We are
on our way to the beach, which you can see in the
distance in the right hand picture. The village is
close to the beach and the walk from the bus stop
to the beach is perhaps 5 to 10 minutes, depending
on how many stores you stop to look at.
.
The
beach is very nice, soft sand and gentle surf. It
is not as long as Bucerias beaches, but then who
cares when you almost have the beach to yourself.
From these pictures you can see that the beach is
not crowded at all. Of course there are restaurants
on the beach were you can enjoy a couple of beers
for 20 pesos or a $1.50 CDN each as well as a nice
Mexican lunch. Can't beat that - Beer, food, sandy
beach and ocean view!

.
At
one end of the beach there is a rocky outcrop. There
is a small exclusive hotel for guests to enjoy called
the Villa Amor, as well as private homes. From the
outside the Villa Amor certainly looked like a great
place to stay. There is also a cemetery just up in
the hill behind the hotel as well.
.
Along
the walkway in front of the hotel are quiet shaded
areas for guests to sit and read, or just enjoy
the scenery! The cemetery is crowded and not well tended
amongst the trees, however many people place wreath's
and flowers at the grave sites.
