More pictures of downtown Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta

The following pictures are a continuation of a collection of pictures that we have taken while in the Puerto Vallarta area. The first picture is of the church in downtown Puerto Vallarta, just two blocks off the Malecon and one block from the central square that you find in many spanish cities. This is a beautiful old church and well worth the visit.

The picture on the right is a typical street filled with shoppers. This particular day, there were 3 cruise ships docked at the marina and many people spend the day shopping in Puerto Vallarta.

We saw quite a few people in a jewelry shop on this street, so we went in to see what all the interest was. Turns out the shop was giving everyone a shot of Tequila, mixed with squirt (similar to Sprite ) and a squirt of lime juice. Makes and excellent drink at 11 in the morning !

The picture on the left was taken on a small street that winds its way up behind the church that we mentioned. A narrow street with cobble stones, houses perched on the side of the mountain, some poor while others are very elegant and well decorated.

This picture shows just how narrow the streets are relative to the car on the street. The balcony is actually over the street. I definitly would not want to live here during the rainy season. These streets become rivers with torrents of water pouring down towards the ocean!

One of our favorite places to eat was the Chilaquiles restaurant on the 5th floor above Starbucks downtown Puerto Vallarta. We enjoyed the food the view and the entertainment that was on the Malecon. Dancing, music and even movies were included.

Cheeky Monkeys was another favorite location that we spend some time at. Between fantastic sunsets as can be seen below to $1 beer and Margaritas, this is a must on your list of places to visit.
