We
left Ottawa Jan 11th on our vacation,
driving to Syracuse,New York the first night and
then onto Leesburg to visit with friends for two
days. We were extremely fortunate to miss several
storms with lots of snow. Roads were excellent and
once we got past Scranton, there was no more snow!!!!
Since
it was a Sun morning there was actually no traffic
crossing the Bridge at Thousand Islands, New York,
in fact we were the only car in line at 9:30 in the
morning and we were across the border in no time
at all. We were only asked 4 questions and then told
to proceed. For those of you who know us, this was
extraordinary for us, since we have had a difficult
time in the past.
I
had to show one picture to help us remember why we
went on this trip. The snow and the cold weather.
The day after we left, it was minus 39C with the
wind chill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
The
pictures below show the Colorado River in Laughlin
, Nevada and a Koi fish pond near
one of the hotels. Laughlin, Nevada is nice place in
the middle of the desert along the Colorado River.
There are several casino hotels here and a small
town on the Arizona side of the river. We are 90
miles from Las Vegas!
.
California
desert somewhere between Las
Vegas and Palm Springs.
It is always amazing to us how barren California
can be, yet people live and work in the desert.
.
Carol
and a Joshua tree in the desert !
We
are staying in Palm Springs for two nights and then
heading to Los Angeles to catch a plane to Puerto
Vallarta.
Later on during our vacation I will add a page covering
Palm Springs.
