Vail, Colorado & Glenwood , Colorado

Vail , Colorado west of Denver is one of the stops you must make. Lots of bars and restaurants, cobblestone streets, shops and of course skiing in the winter, hiking and golf in the summer. Parking is free during the summer and there are lots of hotel and motel chains to stay at.

If you are planning to spend some time in Vail, and are of the budget conscious type, one or two exits past Vail, there are many chain motels to stay at and cheaper places to eat. Vail, Colorado is a great place to visit and window shop!

Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Glenwood springs is west of Vail , Colorado and of course west of Denver. This little town, nestled in the mountains is also the gateway to Aspen, Colorado. We did not make it to Aspen this time, since we thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and the restaurants in Glenwood.

Glenwood is known for hot springs and if you are just looking to relax, this is a great place to make a stop. The Kids will enjoy the huge pool and there are many bars and eateries in the area. Book your hotel or motel early summer or winter since many hotels and motels are often sold out.
