Five Simple Steps To Get The Best Pictures For Your Ebay Auctions
By By Jason James

We have all heard the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. With online auctions it should be "a good picture can add up to thousands of dollars".

Without having a background in digital photography, lighting techniques and backdrops, etc. I have found a very simple way to get professional quality lighting and photos in minutes. Top photographers say it is much easier for a novice to get a great picture by using natural or outdoor lighting while taking a photo of your products.

Here is a simple way to get a great photo for online auctions:

1. The best lighting occurs between 3 p.m.-6 p.m. in the afternoon, depending on the time of year. Set aside 15 minutes so you can take several pictures at once.

2. Use a simple plain backdrop and place it behind your auction item, perhaps a white sheet or a tan piece of solid fabric. You need to use a solid color for your backdrop, so that you do not draw attention away from your product.

3. The backdrop color should be the opposite of your item color. Example: If you had an antique dollar

that was mostly white, you would want to use a dark backdrop to bring out the details of your dollar.

4. Providing multiple photos of your auction item will normally bring higher dollar bids.

5. Taking photos of any product numbers, brands or labels on your items will also increase the value of your bids.

It is well documented that there have been many high profile eBay auctions in which the seller had a very poor description of the item he was listing. He also had no idea of the value; but he was able to provide several high quality photos of the items at different angles and he was able to receive bids in excess of several thousand dollars!

Jason James is a 10 year Internet marketing veteran and an eBay Power Seller of 4 years. His website "The Auction Resource Network" reveals his inside secrets and sources that help him pocket over $10,000 a month on eBay.
