The Kind Of 3d For Your Tires
By Terry Brown

Time does fly by so fast. It seems like only a couple of days ago it was still summer but you never did realize that in just a couple of days, winter would soon be descending on the land. And with that kind of change of weather, you might also want to start sprucing up your vehicle so that it would still perform well during the cold months and still give you utmost protection on your trips and journeys.

It does not matter what kind of stuff you would be using to make sure that your vehicle still is in tiptop shape no matter what the weather would be. You may already have had finished your winter shopping list for your vehicle. You may even have included those new Plymouth parts, Flow Tech headers, and Nology hotwires to replace those ones worn out by your summer travels. But you see, you may also want to add the new 3D tires created by Dunlop North America.

According to Dunlop, the creator of these new 3D tires, this new product of theirs would certainly give your vehicle a further boost come the winter season. They have certainly tested the product through various types of road conditions that one can find during winter – roads filled with snow, water, muck, or even mud.

The company is calling this new product of theirs the Dunlop SP WinterSport 3D winter performance tires.

And what make these new tires unique are those things that the company refers to as “3D sipes”. These 3D sipes, when simply put, are those grooves that are as thin as a knife’s edge. These are cut into the tread of the tires which allows the tires to have an even more enhanced grip on the road. And if you do use such type of tires on your vehicle, you would most certainly have the feeling and the experience that you are using a high or ultra performance vehicle.

Tony Freund is the current segment marketing manager for the company’s North American arm and he does suggest that if you would like to change your tires for the winter months, you should not wait until the temperature starts to freeze. Because, he says, if you do, that would be actually too late. According even to tire manufacturers in Europe, vehicle owners should start switching to their winter tires when the temperature starts dropping to 44° F.

Now if you think that these 3D sipes are just one and the same, then you should start focusing more and looking more closely on these new 3D tires. You see, the company does say that there are actually three types of sipes that they are using on these new tires. Each type, of course, has its own specific reason and for a specific purpose.
