Albino Raccoons are very rare however when you actually see one, it can be a bit disconcerting. The picture on this page is courtesy of KFOR in Oklahoma and shows what an Albino Raccoon actually looks like.

Raccoons and especially Albino Raccoons are very difficult to trap. They have become used to living with humans in urban areas and have come to understand the pitfalls and dangers lurking in backyards etc.

Albino Raccoons as well as regular raccoons have learned that the best way to avoid being trapped is to never enter one. Most people will let them go a few streets away or in a park, only to find out that they have returned to their old haunts and into your attic or out buildings were they have a den.

You have to take Albino Raccoons and any others you catch out to the country side were it is unlikely they will return. Once a raccoon has been trapped, they learn quick and will never enter a trap again. If you have an Albino Raccoon or a family of raccoons in your attic, best thing to do is wait till the young are old enough to travel and then install a one way doorof wire mesh over the entrance to the den so they can get out but not back in. Make sure the young Albino Raccoons can get out, otherwise the parent raccoons will literally tear your roof apart trying to get back into the den inside your roof!

.

Once the Albino Raccoons are gone, use strong heavy gauge wire mesh and cover all possible entrances, screw nailing all of the wire mesh down. Take care to properly seal any holes you need to put into your roof to avoid water leakage. Even if there are areas were they have not entered, cover these with wire mesh as well. Next you will have to deal with any damage they have caused inside and arrange for these repairs caused by the Albino Raccoons to be completed.

Be very careful with the repair for Albino Raccoon damage and entering attic space. Breathing the feces can cause organ damage and death. In the dry air of your attic, these feces break down, turn into dust particles and when disturbed will float in the air for you to breath into your lungs. Hire professionals to clean up the attic if they have been there for some time. You may have to replace the insulation and the air vents over the soffits if there is a lot of damage.
